Your Childs Drawing Transferred onto Silver Jewellery to Treasure for ever.

This is a project to help the children to develop their Drawing and design skills, understand composition and the application of art to a finished item.

To make a Jewellery item each child produces their own Drawing – with some simple guidance for how to make the design successful but a minimal level of adult help. The process of designing the Item teaches them to think about how a design works, about composition and gives them a focus for producing some very high quality work.

Parents can then choose whether or not to go ahead with the Jewellery item – the design exercise in itself obviously has value. Parents choose the item of Jewellery they want and the drawing is then made into a unique and lasting souvenir of their school art.

So far the focus has been on Reception and Year 1 and 2 children – age 5/7 - but there is no reason why older children wouldn’t enjoy the challenge of designing their own Jewellery.

Younger Children have the option of transferring handprints or footprints onto Jewellery as an alternative

There are different ways that the project can work

• As a class project to take home – each child producing their own design with parents paying for the Jewellery if they wish.
• As an individual project – a unique, special gift for, or from, a child.

Even if you are only prepared to distribute flyers to parents, The silver treasure Company will give a £5 donation back to the school or to a charity of your choice for each item ordered from your school.

The Silver Treasure company will provide the nursery with Fingerprint

Kits to take the childrens fingerprints. These are very easy to use impression kits.
